We should have a near complete make-up schedule up no later than tomorrow.
For the postseason, as stated earlier - we`re taking the top 16 teams from the Open divisions for the A level playoffs. Division winner will be seeded 1-5 based on record and then pt differential, then we`ll take the next best 11 teams overall and seed them 6-16 based on record, head-to-head, then point differential.
We`ll take the next 16 Open teams (17-32) for the B level playoffs. We will not use standard 1-16, 2-15...bracketing for the B level. This means if you finish 32 overall you won`t be playing 17 in the first round and vice versa.
Open teams 33-38 are eliminated from the postseason, so if you are at or near the bottom - your next 2 or 3 games do matter.
In Novice, we`ll take the top 6 from each division for the C level playoffs. The 1 and 2 teams in each division will get a first round bye, then play the winners of round one 4-5, 3-6 cross-divisional games in the quarterfinals.
If we manage to get the regular season done on 5/21 - playoffs will commence on 6/4. However, we are restricted with field space on 6/4 (no Baron Cameron) so we`ll use Herndon and Hook for A, and Mt. View #1 for B, and Mt. View #2 & Braddock for C...along with some permutations in there.
If we get a rainout this weekend or next, we`ll run make-ups on 6/4 AND during the week on WED 5/31 and 6/7, and start the playoffs on 6/11 using Baron Cameron and Hook for A & B, and Braddock and Mt. View#2 for C.

FYI, the overall rankings you see when you click the standings by level link are close to but NOT the official overall rankings we would use for playoff ranking at the A and B levels, because the division winners would be 1-5 and those rankings do not account for head-to-head where applicable.

We didn`t just add the slaughter rule this season - its been in place for quite some time.
The idea of the mercy rule is that there is a maximum number of points you can beat a team by no matter how much better you are than that team or in the case of playing a team with only six players.
There are some rules that seem unjustified at face value unless you are in a situation where they adversely affect you. What if there was no mercy rule, and the team your rival beat 52-6 against 6 players the previous week shows up with a full house the next week to play you.
There are other arguments pro and just as many con. Personally, I don`t care one way or the other on whether we keep this rule or not. We`ll let the coaches vote on it before the Fall seasons along with a slew of other issues.
