I am already getting crap about having a game scheduled on Mother`s Day. Is this a problem for anyone else? I think this issue came up last year, but I don`t remember how it was resolved. Most of my team has kids and wives- if people agree, could games be rescheduled on that Sunday?

The problem is that we already take off Memorial Day and Easter, and this year most of the fields do not open until April 2 - which really squeezes the schedule.
Remember, we have to assume there will be rainouts that need to be rescheduled.
If there are at least 3 teams (and their opponents)willing to play their Mother`s Day games on Memorial Day instead, we should be able to do it, but the opponent has to agree as well.

Rob already addressed why we have games that day. If you can`t play then forfeit.

I agree with the original poster and understand the constraints that the league has to deal with.
If we can arrange with opponents to play on Memorial Day, will refs and fields fall into place? I know that that`s one more thing the Commishes have to deal with.

Hey! Why not pack a picnic lunch, grab a blanket, and invite "MOM" out to watch her son (or old man!) play? Believe it or don`t, fall leagues get the same grief from some players about Halloween! Dig that guy who says he`ll play on Christmas! What a guy, probably not a Christian? I`ve heard of officials scheduling their eye operations for off-season and guys, their weddings and surgeries, the same. Gotta love it!

Mother would never forgive me for missing brunch and playing football instead on her special day. Lets get these games moved to another week even if it is on Easter I think teams would be OK with that.

Easter would be worse than playing on mother`s day. I mean these games are over by 1pm. Why don`t you guys make dinner for the mothers instead of the whole brunch thing.

Nice MACDADDIE- YOUR own mother must be proud-
Thanks everyone else for their thoughts on this- I know that scheduling is difficult, and I applaud the league (Tom) for their efforts in accommodating those teams with concerns-

I suggest that those who don`t want to play on Mother`s Day should get their balls out of their old lady`s purse and schedule your celebration for after your game.
