To all team coaches and your players this week the Fairfax league has already had an incident with a player being suspended for bumping into a ref when leaving the field. Coach`s if a player bumps into, pushes, threatens with verbal abuse, and or assaults any official of the Bull Run Association that player could be suspended from one game to FIVE YEARS depending on the severity of the incident.
In addition all players should know that the Bull Run Association may go to the Fairfax Magistrate to file assault or threat charges on any player that does assault or threaten to assault and or cause harm to an official.
The IFFL or FCFFL will not tolerate any behavior of this type against league officials. It is the coaches responsibility to keep your players in line.

That player should be thrown out for the year and the team should get a stern warning.I have seen guys thrown out for less , but any contact with refs is unacceptable.Anything less will not get the point across and will definitely be portrayed as favoritism. His name and team should be listed , so we can all be aware of who did it and help protect the refs back.

Player Team: My Plumber
Player Name: I won`t list because it`s not necessary. Unfortunately he`s one of the nicer, less confrontational guys on our team, this was a little misunderstanding, so there`s no "protection" necessary.
Our guy said he did bump the ref, but it was an accident. He had just gotten called for hitting the arm of the qb (15 yards) and was walking with his head down and bumped the ref unintentionally as he walked back to the defensive huddle. Throwing him out for the year and forfeiting a game is a bit excessive, especially since it was not intentional. If someone does touch an official in a threatening manner, yes, throw him out of the league indefinitely and possibly forfeit the game or two. However, in this case, what turns out to be nothing more than a misunderstanding, resulted in a 3 game suspension and a formal apology ... that`s punishment enough.
Good luck gents.
